About This Event

Recognising the role of children, adolescents and young people in the transformational process,  the Intergenerational Policy Dialogue Roundtable  seeks to promote dialogue and understanding  with a view to bridge the communication gap between different generations. This inaugural dialogue brings together young people ages 18 - 25 with selected policy makers from the Ministry of Education, Children Services, and the NCAJ Special Task Force on Children Matters.

Intergenerational Policy Dialogue Roundtable is one intervention in an action research piloted by Jaslika under the project: Intergenerational Perspectives on Building Education Better Post-Covid 19. At the intersection of education and child protection, the project is about making transformation and positive change. It seeks to change mindsets, reinforce positive values, and strengthen resilience at multiple levels through innovative actions informed by the findings of qualitative research undertaken in rural Nyeri and the informal settlements of Nairobi.

The Roundtable aims at amplifying the voices of nine young people from Tetu and Kieni West in rural Nyeri, Githongoro informal settlement in Nairobi and Jaslika. The young people will engage with our diverse panel of distinguished policy experts on issues of concern that prevent them  from enjoying the full benefits of formal education.
